The President of the Junta de Castilla y León visits 53Biologics and Highlights its Success

The President of the Junta de Castilla y León has emphasized the capacity of this sector to encourage competitiveness in the community and, from here, to be part of the change.

The President of the Junta de Castilla y León, Alfonso Fernández Mañueco, has visited 53Biologics in the Technology Park of Boecillo (Valladolid) where this company has been located since its creation in 2017. A complex that already reaches more than 4,000 square meters and from which it strongly supports all those companies, scientists and researchers from all over the world who seek to turn their visionary ideas into innovative biological treatments. 53Biologics plays a crucial role in defining and establishing the path from the first steps in a laboratory to large-scale production of biologic drugs. Its highly qualified staff and state-of-the-art facilities make it possible for biologic drugs to reach the market safely and efficiently.

Accompanied by Pablo Gutiérrez (CEO of 53Biologics), Carmen Martínez (Operations Director) and Francisco Reyes (Business Development Director), the President took a tour of the headquarters, new manufacutring line and Quality Control labs, in which the Regional Minister of Economy and Finance, Carlos Javier Fernández Carriedo, the President of the Provincial Council, Conrado Íscar Ordoñez, the Vice Councilor of Economy and Competitiveness, Carlos Martín Tobalina, the Territorial Delegate of JCyL, Raquel Alonso Hernández, the General Director of Economic Policy and Competitiveness, Rosa Cuesta, the Internationalization Director of the Institute for Business Competitiveness of Castilla y León (ICECYL), Verónica García García-Abril and the Mayor of Boecillo, Raúl Gómez Pintado, were also present.

The President stressed that 53Biologics is a success story, being a biopharmaceutical company with unique infrastructures in Spain. He also highlighted the capacity of the Spanish CDMO to attract young talent. Finally, he mentioned that through collaboration with leading companies such as this one, the Board continues to work with the aim of implementing a development model based on innovation, sustainability and high quality of life.

For his part, Pablo Gutiérrez expressed his gratitude for the support shown by the Junta de Castilla y León for the company’s project and stressed that “our work shows that, from here, from our autonomous community, we can develop projects that really transform and improve people’s lives.
